Our little monkey - Austin is now 18-months-old and people always ask me if he is 2 or 3 years of age. For his height he is still in the 95% for his age and about 50% for weight.
It sure is amazing how much he is changing and growing. We have been struggling lately with getting rid of the binkie...he used to not be bad with his binkie (so I never thought it would be a problem) until he hit his 1-year mark and than he always wanted it. Now he throws fits if he doesn't get it...and he likes to hide them around the house so when I take one away he ends up with a new one in his mouth very soon.
We had his 18-month check-up and shots last week. His stats are: 26 lbs. 34 inches He gained a pound since last visit and didn't get any taller - I really hope he keeps his height. It makes me laugh because he is the youngest in Nursery but looks like one of the oldest.
Austin is now in Nursery!!!
Yes Austin is now in Nursery at Church and mom and dad LOVE IT. He was such a handful to try and take to church, we ended up walking with a screaming kid through the halls most of church. The kid just likes to run and scream so Aaron and I got a little relax on going to our individual meetings. But now it is so nice to be able to drop him off so we can actually go to class and hear a lesson. I do have to admit the first week we took him I was so worried (I just know he is going to be a problem, he is a handful and like to hit) I even snuck out of class twice to check on him. He actually did ok. Honestly it's been a relief...but in less than 5 short weeks I will be with a baby again so I guess I'll enjoy these last few weeks of church as much as I can.
Austin's favorite thing to do is still golf...he golfs with anything he can get his hands on...spoon, straw, stick, cup, etc. It makes his dad so proud and it just makes me laugh. He hasn't picked up many new words - which I am sure is due to the binkie he always has in his mouth.
I was also wondering about potty training...when do you first try? Should I try before the baby is here or wait until he is 2?
Well that's a little update on our busy little 18-Month-old. I was going to try and wait to post this with some portrait pictures but I have been so busy with my other clients that I haven't been able to get Austin's pictures done...hopefully this week or next. I also wanted some maternity pics but we are so busy I don't know if that's going to happen. So anyways here are some snapshots of Austin.
Austin loves Mac-n-Cheese and loves to feed himself even more.
When he is done eating he likes to stand in his
highchair and one morning he got stuck.
It was so funny!
He also takes it to his horse and puts it in like he is starting the car.
and is into everything!
Dad taught him to arm wrestle.
but I haven't felt like blowing up a big pool
so we bought this $3 pool for the rest of the summer.
Austin just likes to splash in it...he cried the first time he was in it.
He like warm water - not cold.

Such a cute little monkey. I wouldn't start potty training him until he is closer to 2 or 2.5 years old. It will just be frustrating for a longer time if you start to early. Boys are famous for being harder to train. I don't blame you for not wanting 2 in diapers tho!! Can't believe you are due so soon!!! Yay!
Good update!!! I bet your glad he gets to go to nursery before the baby! Bradach steals our keys and turns on the car alarm too! Not so good if there is a funeral going on though. I havent potty trained but I read once that you have to wait until they are aware they are doing it. But I met this lady who started the day they turned one, by 16-18 months both of her boys were potty trained. I started with Bradach about 4 days before I broke my ankle so its been on hold. But I'm all gun ho for it to get done. Oh thanks for the snippet on the binkie, makes me feel better about getting rid of Bradach's long ago.
wow! Yea we get asked the same about Katreena! Everyone thinks she is older too! When you are successful with the binki banning let me know the secret so I can get rid of Katreenas!!
