18-Months going on 3-Years-Old

We have been so busy I haven't been able to post an update for a while. I thought once we stayed home on the weekends our lives would slow down...I was wrong we are still just as busy.

Our little monkey - Austin is now 18-months-old and people always ask me if he is 2 or 3 years of age. For his height he is still in the 95% for his age and about 50% for weight.

It sure is amazing how much he is changing and growing. We have been struggling lately with getting rid of the binkie...he used to not be bad with his binkie (so I never thought it would be a problem) until he hit his 1-year mark and than he always wanted it. Now he throws fits if he doesn't get it...and he likes to hide them around the house so when I take one away he ends up with a new one in his mouth very soon.

We had his 18-month check-up and shots last week. His stats are: 26 lbs. 34 inches He gained a pound since last visit and didn't get any taller - I really hope he keeps his height. It makes me laugh because he is the youngest in Nursery but looks like one of the oldest.

Austin is now in Nursery!!!

Yes Austin is now in Nursery at Church and mom and dad LOVE IT. He was such a handful to try and take to church, we ended up walking with a screaming kid through the halls most of church. The kid just likes to run and scream so Aaron and I got a little relax on going to our individual meetings. But now it is so nice to be able to drop him off so we can actually go to class and hear a lesson. I do have to admit the first week we took him I was so worried (I just know he is going to be a problem, he is a handful and like to hit) I even snuck out of class twice to check on him. He actually did ok. Honestly it's been a relief...but in less than 5 short weeks I will be with a baby again so I guess I'll enjoy these last few weeks of church as much as I can.

Austin's favorite thing to do is still golf...he golfs with anything he can get his hands on...spoon, straw, stick, cup, etc. It makes his dad so proud and it just makes me laugh. He hasn't picked up many new words - which I am sure is due to the binkie he always has in his mouth.

I was also wondering about potty training...when do you first try? Should I try before the baby is here or wait until he is 2?

Well that's a little update on our busy little 18-Month-old. I was going to try and wait to post this with some portrait pictures but I have been so busy with my other clients that I haven't been able to get Austin's pictures done...hopefully this week or next. I also wanted some maternity pics but we are so busy I don't know if that's going to happen. So anyways here are some snapshots of Austin.

Austin loves Mac-n-Cheese and loves to feed himself even more.

When he is done eating he likes to stand in his
highchair and one morning he got stuck.
It was so funny!
Austin likes to steal our car keys, he has learned how to make the alarm go off.
He also takes it to his horse and puts it in like he is starting the car.

He is a climber. Everytime I turn my back he has climbed up on something...
and is into everything!

Dad taught him to arm wrestle.

We bought a big pool on clearance last year
but I haven't felt like blowing up a big pool
so we bought this $3 pool for the rest of the summer.
Austin just likes to splash in it...he cried the first time he was in it.
He like warm water - not cold.
He has discovered the hose and LOVES it!

He discovers something new everyday and keeps mom on her feet - I love this little guy!

6 Weeks to Go....

Well I made it to my 34th week of pregnancy Sunday and here is my updated bump picture...believe me I look much bigger in person!!!

So much more has been going on with this pregnancy compared to Austin's.

I feel so uninformed about everything and very frustrated. The doctor I had with Austin was horrible with the delivery but he was wonderful through all my appointments, ultrasounds, and testing. But I switched doctors this time and Im not going to lie - it has been a very frustrating experience.

It's always reasuring when you go in for an appointment and you ask your doctor when your due date is because you've been told 3 different ones and he can't even tell you. And they seemed to have lost your ultrasound results which costed you about $300 so he can't look at that to figure out the due date. One of my favorites has been when they tested my blood for the wrong thing and I had to go in and get tested again - I have the hardest time giving blood! And when you have to ask about all your results to all the testing and you come to find out in your 32 week that you are Anemic and he never told you before. Oh and you failed your glucose screening you took 4 weeks ago! And I should just go back on my Metformin (which makes your milk dry up and he never told you that). How could I forget the wonderful morning sickness I still have and there is nothing they can do for me - "just tough it out"...even though I know of many women who have been put on medication for morning sickness clear back when they were 20 weeks!! It makes you feel so good inside! It's always fun to have to remind your doctor to even do your glucose screening! I also went in for an appointment today which I was informed I would be doing the Stripe B test and of course my appointment was quick with the doctor not even listening to the heartbeat, measuring, or feeling to see where the baby was positioned...so I asked about the test and he seemed confused and just said we'd do it in 2 weeks. I also had to bring up taking the Metformin and my choice to not mess up my milk production and he seemed confused as to why I was on Metformin, and so I brought up all the stuff we had talked about last time. Than he acted like Metformin doesn't hurt you when you are breastfeeding, and I have to tell him it says right on the label not to use if you are brestfeeding :) got to love it! Anyways there is much more I could go on about but for the sake of not sounding like a miserable whinning pregnant women I'll just post this sweet photo of Austin and my belly and leave it at that!

As worried as I am that Austin will beat up the baby I am also starting to get excited because I think he might be sweet to her. He loves to give my belly kisses and likes to say "baby". Makes my heart melt...I know he really doesn't understand what is coming but at least he is sweet to his sister while she is in my belly.

Yeap that's right I finally gave into the Facebook thing! I am now an official member of the facebook "cool" crowd! After being nagged and threatened I decided it was time! I guess Myspace is so yesterday anyways!

Yes that's right I have a Myspace, a blog, and now a facebook - I am such a loser! :)

Now all of you who told me to get a facebook better add me - I still don't know what I am really doing. Any help would be appreciated!!

Look me up on Facebook and say hello!

Exploring Hogle Zoo

Yesterday we decided to take advantage of our last trip to Utah (for a while - since I have been there for the past 4 weekends and traveling gets more miserable as time gets closer for the baby to be here). So we spend the day at Utah's Hogle Zoo. It was fun to spend the time with the family but I was a little disappointed with the zoo - lets just say it's no San Diego Zoo! A lot of the animals were sleeping in the buildings which there was no access to or the whole exhibit was closed. They had a baby giraffe that was a few days old I wanted to see but they closed down the exhibit. Even though there was a lack of animals Austin had fun with his cousins and he loved looking at the few monkeys we saw and all the different "kiki's" they had. It was so cute. Every time we saw a cat (lion, tiger, bobcat) he would point and say "kiki". He is a little cat lover - and on the other hand he hated the snakes! Thanks Grandma Jan for taking us to the zoo!

Grandpa Earl turns "70"

Aaron's Grandpa Earl turned 70 this past weekend and we went to Utah to go celebrate with him. Jan (Aaron's mom) and her brother Mike put together a birthday lunch and I was able to do some pictures to capture the special event.

I haven't edited these at all but I wanted to do this post while I was downloading (the hundreds) the photos.
